The Comweld Ezi-Flow Air Flow Meter is a pressure-compensated medical air flowmeter that delivers prescribed flow accurately to the end user from the gas source. Suitable for most types of respiratory therapy where medical air (rather than oxygen) is the prescribed gas. The S.I.S. (Specific Index System) oxygen handwheel provides safe, calibrated control across the 0-15 L/min range.

    Key Features

    • Pressure-compensated design — flow accuracy maintained regardless of varying supply pressures.
    • 0-15 L/min outlet pressure range — covers standard respiratory therapy.
    • ±5% accuracy (of full scale reading) — clinical-grade precision.
    • S.I.S. oxygen handwheel for safe controlled adjustment.
    • For medical air gas only — distinct from oxygen-service equipment.

    Specifications

    • Gas type: Medical air (not oxygen)
    • Maximum outlet pressure: 0-15 L/min
    • Accuracy: ±5% of full scale
    • Handwheel: S.I.S. (Specific Index System)
    • Compensation: Pressure-compensated
    • TGA-approved for medical use in Australia

    Air vs oxygen flowmeters

Medical air and medical oxygen have different gas densities and require flowmeters calibrated specifically for each gas. The Ezi-Flow Air is for medical air supply only — pair it with a medical oxygen flowmeter (like the Gentec FM197) when both gases are required, never substitute one for the other. Common applications for medical air include nebulised therapy where mixing oxygen and air at controlled ratios is required.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Why a separate flowmeter for air vs oxygen?
Different gas densities mean different float behaviour. An oxygen flowmeter used on medical air will read inaccurately — and vice versa. Always match the flowmeter to the gas.

Where would I need medical air?
Nebulised therapy with non-oxygen-compatible medications, blended oxygen/air therapy, or ventilator setups requiring controlled gas mix. Most home and basic clinical setups need oxygen only.

Does pressure compensation make a real difference?
Yes — wall-pipeline supply pressures can vary, and downstream restrictions (humidifiers) create back-pressure. Compensation keeps the indicated flow accurate regardless.
