What's the practical difference between YT-1 and YT-2?
The YT-1 has a wider 32-43°C range (covers surface + body); the YT-2 is body-only (35-42°C) for slightly better calibration accuracy in the body-temp window. Same price, same form factor.
Will it work on a hot or sweating forehead?
Wipe the forehead dry first. Sweat can interfere with infrared accuracy. For accurate readings, the patient should also have been still for a few minutes (recent exertion can elevate skin temperature).
How often do batteries need replacing?
Typical AA cells last 1000+ readings — about 12-18 months in normal household use.
